At Read’s Roofing Ltd we have many years’ experience working with lead flat roofing, lead flashings, bespoke lead roofing and chimney works.

We use rolled lead sheets of varying thickness depending on the project in hand. Lead roofs are extremely hardwearing and last up to three times longer than other roofing materials. The very nature of the material is such that a lead roof is resistant to salt water, most chemicals, extreme temperatures and UV rays. Lead is a flexible and versatile material and can be easily shaped, cut and formed to suit a variety of applications.

Owing to its malleable properties and durability, lead is the only material that can protect areas around a property’s junctions and joins from water penetration. Flashing, which is essentially rolled lead cut and sealed to the joins of a property, can be decorative eg: above bay windows; or used for the purpose of a watertight ‘join’ over guttering, door frames and pitched roofs. Chimney flashing is specifically installed to prevent water from seeping into the property where the chimney meets the roof.

When installing a new lead roof or flashings, Read’s Roofing Ltd make all the necessary arrangements regarding the removal and disposal of old materials and carry out any remedial work that needs to be done prior to the installation of the new roof. A full safety check is carried out to ensure that the building complies with current regulations.
